The Dix were a fictional doo-wop group from the equally fictional town of Compton, New York, created by Prince Paul alongside Mr. Len, Mr. Dead and Don Newkirk.Framed as the rediscovered archive of a legendary 1960s vocal group, the project arrived packaged as a long-lost reissue, complete with a bonus mockumentary DVD tracing the fictional band's tumultuous history.
The promotional flat featured fabricated celebrity endorsements from Monica Lewinsky, Apollonia, George Michael and Shaggy of Scooby-Doo, and announced a release date of March 29, 2005. The project itself is a testament to Prince Paul's career-long commitment to world building
