ā€œRap-A-Lot Recordsā€ - Original 12ā€ Flat Group (1992 – Geto Boys, Raheem & Ganksta N-I-P)

This group of three original 1992 Rap-A-Lot promotional flats captures Shawn Brauch’s earliest design evolution at the precise moment Southern rap visuals began shifting from paste-up and photocopier-era methods into digital experimentation.
Created by Shawn Brauch during his time at Rap-A-Lot, the artworks were produced for releases by hip-hop artists Geto Boys, Raheem, and Ganksta N-I-P. Across the three pieces, you can see the transition from analogue paste-up techniques through to early Photoshop compositions.
Rather than isolated works, this set functions as a developmental archive, documenting both the technical foundations of Pen & Pixel’s process and the visual identity of Rap-A-Lot. Artifacts from this formative period rarely survive in such form.
